Got It Done

For instance, if you'd like to see what went on at October's Coloma Gold Rush Live!, click here. You'll see Fritz Erhardt's site plan, Betty Sederquist's photos, and a few words on how it happened.

In January 2007, with fanfare and dignitaries present, the Gold Discovery Museum reopened with a beautiful new diorama. Museum hours are 10 am—3 pm daily. Soon, phase 2 of the museum makeover begins as the interpretation of Native American life in Coloma takes shape.

Gettin' It Done

The Gold Rush Mercantile at Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park continues to wow its customers with a stupendous number of books about the California Gold Rush, including children's books, reproductions of gold rush era toys, housewares, and hand wrought ironworks made onsite at the Coloma Blacksmith's. The Mercantile has started its own tradition with an "Old Fashioned Christmas" Preview in October ... stop by to see the 1850s-era holiday decorations ... Santas, angels, garlands, delicate tin, fabric and china ornaments ... will make your holidays a "step back in time."

Visit our e-mercantile ... Check it out every week to see what's new and discover the latest "special." All proceeds from the Mercantile and e-Mercantile benefit Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park.

On October 11, 2004, as a part of the federal Save Our Treasures grant program, the Gold Discovery Park Association was awarded a $200,000 grant for the restoration of the Park's Thomas Hansford Williams House. Click here to read about the project. (Go to the Save America's Treasures site to learn more about the grant program.)

(You may have guessed it already, but in case you didn't, the GDPA's sole reason for being is to support the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park ... all our activities directly benefit the Park.)
