Christmas in Coloma Get into the holiday spirit with joyous 1850s-style festivities on Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9 from 10 am until 4 pm at Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. Come to Christmas in Coloma for entertainment and activities for all ages, including a marketplace of artisans and vendors, strolling musicians, 19th century games, wreath making and warm and hardy food and drink. A visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus is the highlight of the day for kids — and snow is guaranteed! Find one-of-a-kind gifts and great food when it's time for a lunch or snack. The Park's historic buildings will be open, with volunteers portraying townspeople in historically accurate dress. Visitors warm up at the town campfire where musicians and other performers entertain. The park is located in Coloma on Highway 49 between Placerville and Auburn; less than an hour's drive from Sacramento. Cost is $7 per vehicle.
