 Gold Fever at the Gold Rush Mercantile -
Give the gift of gold while you experience Coloma Valley's gentle beauty and tranquility. Amble through this historic Park to the welcoming doors of the Gold Rush Mercantile where you will be greeted by our friendly staff and also find period clothing - pants, shirts, suspenders and hats for the gentlemen - aprons and bonnets for the ladies, a large selection of books on Gold Rush history, toys for children, and genuine gold nuggets. Gold Rush Mercantile, at Marshall Gold Discovery SHP, opens daily at 10 am and closes 1/2 hour after the Museum.

 Coloma Gold Rush Live - Oct 2008
For two days Coloma will be packed with images, sounds, and hands-on experiences dating back to the 1850s. Step back in time and experience the California Gold Rush. Live history tent encampments recreate Gold Rush history in this authentic setting. Attend talks about the gold discovery and Sutter's Mill. Visitors will enjoy live music, historic trade demonstrations and a merchants market. There will be gold panning contests for kids and adults as well as sawmill demonstrations and historic re-enactments so you can feel as if you are rubbing shoulders with the adventurers and historical figures that helped create the world-wide rush to California. Stay tuned for details of the 2008 event!

 Christmas in Coloma - Dec 2008
Annual old-fashioned Christmas, with period crafts, music, strolling musicians, historic trade demonstrations, 19th-century children's games, and wreath making. A visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus is a colorful highlight of the day. Vendors offer hand-made crafts as well as a variety of foods. Snow is guaranteed!
